them and focus only on the important, impactful notices. For me, working
with this window wastes precious time. On the other hand, perhaps I am
not providing a good example, since one of the traders in our trading room
insists that he absolutely makes his living from the real time information
coming through. So the choice is up to you.

• The Alerts window

When you plan to buy a stock if it reaches a specific price, but you are

following several other stocks simultaneously, it is wise to feed in an alert.

In the case above, I fed in an alert that will activate when the ASK for AAPL
is equal to or more than $264.10. If and when Apple reaches this price,
a warning will pop up on the screen and play a sound. You can set any

number of warnings, but I recommend using this tool in a very measured

way, since too many alerts disturb trading procedures with all their noise.
