3 – The Secondary Chart
On the secondary chart I display the stock I am following. I may be watching
a new stock on the primary chart [1], while simultaneously following up
on a stock I have just bought on this secondary chart.
4 – The Trade Window
On the broader left side of this image, the stock box window is displayed.
On the narrow right side is the Time & Sell (T&S) window, on which I will
expand later. Both these windows must always be side by side. In some
trading platforms, they even appear together in the same window. The
stock box is a trader’s central execution tool. In the top left corner of the
stock box, we can type in the stock symbol [1]. In the upper section we find
information known as Level I data [2]. This is data such as the previous
day’s closing price, the highest and lowest prices of the current day (high
and low), the current day’s trade volume (number of shares), the price
of the most recent trade (Last Px), percentage of rise or drop of the stock
relative to the previous day’s close (0.04% according to this image), and
the price change in points (0.02; in other words, the share price rose today
by two cents).
